Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Between gigs we had a chance to visit the Battlefield at Gettysburg, which has become a shrine to the soldiers who fought and died on that Battlefield during the American Civil War. We walked to the top of Little Round Top where there's a view of the entire Battlefield.

"The Ceremony" This Ceremony is a "Voyager Induction Ceremony." Traditionally, when voyagers successfully completed their first journey across the Canadian Shield and back, there would be a ceremony at the waters'edge. A white pine branch, considered a tree with spritual strength, was dipped in the water and sprinkled on the paddlers to thank the water for bringing them safely home. They would then down a shot of liquor to celebrate their induction into the brotherhood of voyagers. This is the Ingersoll version of the Ceremony. Thanks to Allyson for the explanation and to Dave (Canadian Dave) for the photos.
